Help protect your cattle and sheep against clostridial diseases with one convenient combination vaccine.

UltraChoice™ 8 is for the vaccination of healthy cattle and sheep as an aid in the prevention of the following clostridial diseases of cattle and sheep:

  • Blackleg (Clostridium chauvoei)
  • Malignant edema (Cl. septicum)
  • Red water (Cl. haemolyticum)
  • Black disease (Cl. novyi)
  • Gas gangrene (Cl. sordellii)
  • Enterotoxemia and Enteritis (Cl. perfringens types B, C and D)

Although Clostridium perfringens type B is not a significant problem in cattle and sheep living in North America, immunity is provided by the beta toxoid of type C and the epsilon toxoid of type D.

This clostridial combination vaccine contains killed cultures and does not require reconstitution prior to administration. UltraChoice™ 8 should be administered subcutaneously to cattle and sheep, with a second dose 4-6 weeks later. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended. May be administered to pregnant cows and calves nursing pregnant cows. Do not administer within 21 days before slaughter.

Supplied as either a 10 or 50 dose bottle. Needles and syringes sold separately.

Ingredients: UltraChoice™ 8 contains killed, standardized cultures of Clostridium chauvoei, Cl. septicum, Cl. haemolyticum, Cl. novyi, Cl. sordellii, and Cl. perfringens types C and D, with a special, water-soluble adjuvant (Stimugen?).

Indications: UltraChoice™ 8 is for use in healthy cattle and sheep as an aid in preventing blackleg caused by Cl. chauvoei; malignant edema caused by Cl. septicum; bacillary hemoglobinuria caused by Cl. haemolyticum; black disease caused by Cl. novyi; gas-gangrene caused by Cl. sordellii; and enterotoxemia and enteritis caused by Cl. perfringens types B, C, and D.

Dosage and Administration: Cattle- Administer 2 ml UltraChoice™ 8 Subcutaneous. Healthy cattle should receive 2 doses administered 4-6 weeks apart.
Sheep- Administer 1 ml UltraChoice™ 8 Subcutaneous in the neck, followed by a second dose 4-6 weeks later. For Cl. haemolyticum repeat the dose every 6 months in animals subject to reexposure. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.

Storage: Store at 2°-7°C. Do not freeze.

Caution: UltraChoice™ 8 has a 21 day withdrawal.
Consult a veterinarian before administering vaccines.

Shipping: Ships on ice overnight

Restrictions: Cannot ship to Canada, inquire regarding restrictions to other countries

Could you please explain the difference between Ultra Choice 8 and Ultrabac 8. Also is the One Shot Ultra 8 more expensive because of the Pasturella prevention?

Asked by: Fleming Livestock
Hello! There is no real difference between the UltraChoice 8 and the Ultrabac 8 other than Ultrabac is slightly less. They cover the same things and are both a killed vaccine (No mixing). The One Shot Ultra 8 is more expensive because of the Bovine pneumonic pasteurellosis vaccine included. This shot also must be mixed, unlike the other two.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great vaccine. Great vaccine. We use it at branding, pre-weaning, and weaning on our calves. Our cows and replacement heifers get it at pre-breeding and pre-calving. The bulls also get it annually. Everyone has stayed in good shape.
