I have purchased the UltraCruz® Goat Copper Boluses now several times and I have to say not only is it the most cost-effective way to keep my large goat herd copper compliant but the product is a better quality. The capsule casings dose easier than what I have purchased in the past and paid more of my hard earned funds.

Is it safe to open the capsule and put the copper in a fig newton? I've been doing it this way for some time but a friend of mine said that they are slow release and this is not a good way to administer.

Asked by: Tanya
Unfortunately we cannot recommend off label usage. The capsule should be administered orally with a suitable balling gun. You should consult your veterinarian if you would like to administer this in a different form.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful coats If you own goats you will need this. Before using this great product our goats had rough looking coats but now the coats are beautiful and shiney. It's easy to give we bolus entire herd in minutes with either a banana or strawberry taking the end of spoon make small hole add the bolus in and give to goat, they never chew always swallow and beg for more. We did try the gun but it was hard to work with for 1 person on 180lb goats the fruit method 1 person can do in just minutes no hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best copper bolus for goats In the southwestern U.S., goats tend to have issues with coper levels being too low. Most of the people I know raising dairy goats in this area - and that's a lot of goat breeders - use a copper bolus. This brand is the best value we have come across. I will note however, that my goats tend to need higher and more frequent doses than listed on the container. I dose at 1 gram per 25 pounds, every 6 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product ! I breed Boer goats and breed for quality and hardiness. I also have a passion for goats of color. I noticed some of my darker girls had coats that were bleached, faded and coarser in texture despite access to minerals and goat blocks. I purchased UltraCruz copper blouses for both my does , buck and kids last summer. The results were amazing! Color was vibrant, coats were soft and smooth. Even my white girls shine. I will make it a regular part of my goat keeping from now on, dosing every 6 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this stuff! I have been buying this for 3 years now. The price and convenience of dosage is unbeatable. I use these to supplement my dairy goats with copper twice a year. They come in 2 sizes which is great, but it is also easy to open the capsule and remove some copper to reduce the amount if you need less than the pre-measured dose; something I also really appreciate. I will never buy copper anywhere else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend these. I highly recommend these. Even though we supply our goats with good quality minerals that have copper in them, we had a low birth rate over the past two years. We decided to use the copper bolus twice a year and finally had only mulitiple births again. 2x4, 1x2 and all the rest had 3. We will keep using it for sure, since our feed obviously has some kind of copper deficiency.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have! My goats always require more copper than they receive in their free-choice loose minerals, and these copper boluses work wonders to keep them in top condition with shiny, soft coats. Adequate copper levels make all the difference in goats' health and resistance to parasites. Giving these boluses with a bolus gun is typically a job for two people, but I really like the idea from another reviewer to use a chunk of banana with the bolus pushed inside, a good method for working solo. An excellent book for learning more about the vital role of copper and other minerals/vitamins for goats is Natural Goat Care, written by Pat Coleby. UltraCruz Goat Copper Boluses are the best deal around! And customer service has been consistently great over the years. Many thanks for this excellent product!
