NexGard^® for Dogs

NexGard® for Dogs is an oral insecticide for dogs and puppies to control fleas and ticks. This easy to administer beef-flavored chew controls fleas and ticks for up to 30 days of protection and kills fleas in as little as 24 hours. Protects against fleas and ticks, including deer ticks, lone star ticks and the American dog ticks.

Administer once monthly. Safe for use in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older.

A veterinarian's prescription is required for purchase.

Indications: NexGard® for Dogs is for use in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older and weighing at least 4 lbs to kills adult fleas, treat and prevent flea infestations. As well as to treat and control black-legged(deer) ticks, American dog ticks, and lone star ticks.

Dosage and Administration: NexGard® for Dogs is given once a month, at the minimum dosage of 1.14 mg/lb (2.5 mg/kg). Nexgard® can be administered with or without food. Care should be taken that the dog consumes the complete dose, and treated animals should be observed for a few minutes to ensure that part of the dose is not lost or refused. If it is suspected that any dose of the dose has been lost or if vomiting occurs within two hours of administration, redose with another full dose. If a dose is missed, administer Nexgard® and resume a monthly dosing schedule.

Flea treatment and administration: Treatment with Nexgard® may begin at any time of the year. In areas where fleas are common year-round, monthly treatment with Nexgard® should continue the entire year without interruption. To minimize the risk of flea reinfestation, it is important to treat all animals within a household with an approved flea control product.

Tick treatment and control: Treatment with Nexgard® may begin at any time of the year.

Caution: Not for use in humans. In case of accidental ingestion, contact a physician immediately. Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. The safe use of Nexgard in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures. Not for use in humans. Storage: Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children. Store at or below 30° C (86° F) with excursions permitted up to 40° C (104°: F).
