What is the length of the pet piller? I have a #4 capsule (very small) I need to get into a large horse and she will not take it with her feed. I need something narrow enough to hold the small pill, yet long enough to get it to the back of her throat.

what size plastic balling gun would work for adult nigerian dwarf goats to administer copper bolus?  do i need a different size for nigi kids?

Asked by: miniakers
The pet piller does not work for the copper bolus for kids, it will not fit in there. The small plastic balling gun works just fine

Are these single use?

Asked by: Mzdonnelly
Hi, thanks for the question. These are not single use balling guns. They are made of very durable plastic and can be used as many times as you need.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I had well over 100 head of lambs to use the "small balling guns" on. I bought two guns, so one could be filled while the other one was being used. They were both wore out before I was half done. They were working well before the dispensing end would no longer hold the bolus. I think they also need to be 1 inch longer to make sure the bolus is put down the animals throat. I had several lambs spit the boluses out of their mouth. A solution might be to design a shorter "calf-type" bolus gun (made with the harder plastic material) with a small enough dispensing end for the "Goat Copper Bolus for adults" product to stick in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IndispensableWe have found that the Small Brown Plastic Balling Gun (sc-516159) has been indispensable in administering supplemental mineral bolus to our goats. The small gun was small enough to use on our Nigerian Dwarf goat, but large enough to still be effective on our Boers and Alpines. It’s helpful to use a bit of peanut butter in the gun to aid in keeping the bolus in place during administration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as NeededThis balling gun was recommended by customer service for use with the company's copper boluses for adult goats. It works as expected, and I appreciated the assistance in selecting this item. It makes the job of administering a copper bolus so simple that one person working alone could do it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small size bolus gunI bought this to administer the adult size goat copper boluses. It works well. I use a dollup of probiotic paste inside the chamber to hold the bolus in place until I have the gun inserted way down into the back of my goats' throats. This ensures the boluses get swallowed, not chewed or spit onto the ground. While the plastic gun is reusable, if your goats struggle and bite down at all it will get scratched up. So I like to have a few of these on hand as replacements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product!I bought one of these about a year ago to administer the small copper boluses to my goats. I have told everyone and have ordered another and several for friends!! Great quality, small enough to fit a 2gram copper bolus into the mouth of Nigerians. I can even fit 2 2gram side by side for my adults!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked like a charm! The Balling Gun worked great to give my goats their copper bolus. Kept my fingers out of the way of teeth! It is easy to handle and kept the bolus capsule in place long enough to get it in the goat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too fragileIf you do not insert the bolus gun just right the sheep can easily crack these with their back teeth. A metal bolus gun, while more expensive, is a better and more sustainable option.
