Demonstrated to be used as preanesthetic to local or general anesthesia. It has successfully been used as preanesthetic before Procaine, lidocaine, pentobarbital sodium, thiopental sodium, thiamylal sodium, nitrous oxide, ether, halothane, glyceryl guaiacolate, and methoxyflurane anesthesia. Caution should be considered before given to a non-healthy horse or Cervidae. Causes a 1-2 hour sleep-like state followed by 15-30 minute analgesia.
