Shapley's Original M-T-G™ is a equine grooming product and skin and fungus treatment. When used as a leave-in conditioner and detangler for horses, it promotes maximum mane and tail hair growth by creating a healthy environment for the hair follicle. Shapley's Original M-T-G™ is oil-based and promotes soft, pliable hair for minimum breakage.

This product also provides effective relief from a variety of bacterial and fungal skin conditions such as rain rot, girth itch, scratches (mud fever), greasy heel, dandruff and tail rubbing. Shapley's Original M-T-G™ does not need to be washed out between applications and is great for use in cold weather. If your horse spends a lot of time in direct sunlight, apply this product in early evening since the oils may make your horse sensitive to the sun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product!I have an Appy gelding. He ripped out a huge chunk of his tail. Using MTG I've seen his hair grow back stronger, and healthier than ever. His mane had been buzzed and the hair grew back within a few months and was thicker and stronger, including his forelock! I use it as instructed, once a week and keep his tail in a tailbag. It's not a miracle product that helps over night but is definitely worth it if used as instructed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My horse got a weird skin problem and we tried everything, the vet did too... and a g/f of mine from up here in Spokane, told me to use this ... and in just days, it was healing... she had me use it 3 times in a week... my poor horse before treatment for days ... was itching his head off... this stuff it the best ... thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Oily & stinky but it worksAs much as I hate applying MTG, it does work.. definitely not something I use every day but it works well on rain rot and overly dry/itchy skin. It stinks and it's oily, but it works well for overly irritated skin. I usually always keep some in the barn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great!I bought a mare that had a large piece of her mane missing from eating out of a round bale feeder. I used M-T-G and it grew at an impressive rate. Can't compare to other products since this was the only one I tried, but I was pleased with the results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A product I always keep in my barnIf you have a horse that's prone to developing pastern dermatitis (which has many other common names) or other types of skin irritations including hair loss this product works great to clear it up and regrow hair. The smell isn't good but it's the sulphur ingredient that makes it work so well, just wear disposable gloves when applying.

We put M-T-G on their scalp few times a week and they have not been itchy. Has very unique distinct smell, but after you see the results you do not mind the smell anymore!
