I feed Timothy pellets soaked. Will the psyllium be palatable if it gets dampened by the pellets?

It would not be very efficient for you to mix these two products. For the best results supplementing the Psyllium would be dry feeding.

The dosage is as follows: Directions for Use: Servings based on an average horse weight of 1,000 lbs Give two scoops (100 g) once daily for 3 to 7 consecutive days. It is not recommended to exceed 7 consecutive days in a 30 day time period. Thank you, SCAH Team

Can this product be used daily to help control Free Fecal Water Syndrome? When I use psyllium for monthly sand treatment his FFWS clears up, but then it comes right back when the week's treatment is complete.

Ive seen mixed instructions on psyllium. I understand pellets are fed dry but higher risk of impaction. Vet advised powdered form mix it with water & grain as dry can cause choke. Vet also does flush with powdered psyllium & water & oil. What’s best way ?

Hi..All the research I have seen says to soak psyllium (pellets and/or powder) until it becomes gel like and then add it to the food.  Why do you say to give it dry?  Especially the pellets…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised!I was using the pelleted version of this product, as my horses typically will not eat the powdered version of this type of supplement from a different brand. In my last order, I decided to go ahead and give UltraCruz's brand a try and see if my horses would eat it mixed in their feed, and to my delight they did. I don't know what's different about this powdered psyllium product versus others on the market, but my horses don't mind the taste of this one at all. Happy to have a cheaper alternative for a product that I use monthly!

A few of my horses are quite picky and don't normally like the powdered versions of psyllium products. I gave this one a shot, and mixed in with their grain and warm water, they ate up every last bit of this. I use this product monthly and feel it really contributes to keeping my horses in great health! Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for horse grazing on sandy soilsBecause we live in a part of Florida where the soil is pure sand, my horses manage to consume an inordinate amount of sand while grazing (resulting in diarrhea). This psyllium powder has become an essential -- it is pure psyllium without the sweetener and other fillers that other equine "sand clear" products have. I feed it with water one week of the month and one weekend mid month to help eliminate sand from their guts.

My horse, who is fairly picky and skilled at leaving supplements in his pan, eats it just fine with his grain if I mix it with just a little water to help it stick. It looks like the psyllium that I buy for myself, which makes me feel really good about the quality and purity. I recommend it to other owners whenever asked, describing it as cost effective and straight forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FFWRecommended this type of product by ECIR group vet to gain control of free fecal water. I was amazed the ponies ate it all without hesitation on wet timothy pellets. It turned into a goo, but they still ate it and the FFW has been under control since using this product. This may not be the intended use but it worked. My ponies have suffered for years, and I was tired of washing their tails.

Our vet told us that the powder was preferred over pellets to have better effect. Nicely priced, nice packaging, easy to use.
