Calming Paste - I have a 150 lb goat who stress out really bad when it is hoof trim time. I bought the paste but do not know what the dosage would be for a goat since it is based on 1000 lb animal. Do you know the dosage for a goat? Thank you

Asked by: Diane
The appropriate dosage for a 150 lb goat would be approximately 9.75 grams or 9 ml daily. This amount can be doubled for more anxious/stressed animals.

I need to calm my Ram sheep for shearing, how long before I can see the effects of your calming product, do we need to start days before the event or hours before the event?

Asked by: Teresa
Hello, You may administer this product on an everyday basis if needed. If you are using the supplement for situational use, we recommend administering the product at least 3 days before the stressful event. Depending on your animal, it may take longer to see desired effect. Thank you, SCAHealth

How much would give a 1200 pound heifer

Asked by: Boymom
Hello! It is recommended that the pellet should be given as 1 level scoop (60 g) twice daily per 1,000lb body weight. For the paste, administer 30 ml 2x daily. For anxious animals administer 60 ml 2x daily. The paste dosage is also based on 1000lb body weight. For more a more precise dosage, we recommend consulting your veterinarian.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for Goats!I had a Nigerian Dwarf doeling with stress issues, and would get very loose stools consistently when stressed. We did have a fecal done with the vet out who confirmed she was within low/normal limits. She was dam raised and just moving to my small herd she was having issues adjusting. At first she wanted nothing to do with the pellets (she was also new to the idea of grain). But is how a little piggy and gobbles them up with the rest of her grain ration. I supplement her once a day, every day 3-4 days before something scary, that paired with probiotics has seemed to help her cope enough in new situations that we no longer have an issue! We have another big show coming up and I'm hoping these do the trick!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does helpMy (spoilt, not so much a baby since we are 6, not so much a lap goat as we are full size and full grown) baby goat has become a bit of a donkey. This helps him be less donkey, more lovable baby goat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really works for goats!I have a goat that is a nervous nelly and she tends to pull her own fur out or her mothers. Since I started her on this, it has all stopped and she is easier to catch and handle. Love this stuff!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still working, paste is a life saver!I have now been using this product for almost a year for my goat with anxiety and it has helped her tremendously. She is self destructive and pulls her fur out or the other goats fur but just 5cc a day has stopped that. If she is off of it for a week she starts back up so it's definately the paste that is breaking her destructive pattern. I even started using it on some of our more skittish youngsters with great results. Best part is, it's affordable and they ship quick! Thanks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product 1 star but customer service 5 starsUnfortunately this product was not useful to us. The animals immediately hated it and they wouldn’t take it. It had a strange smell. I will give 5 stars for their customer service though, they made it right and were quickly receptive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Goat PalabilityI am feeding 1 teaspoon in feed to my 165lb goats, and they are normally food mongers. With the suppliment added, they are more picky and showed the feed around. I believe they are not fond of the flavor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My daughter and her first steer. This product was so helpful in giving my daughter confidence to help her handle her steer. She had a good tempered steer this just made it easier in the ring with the other steers. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as helpfulUnsure of its effectiveness on goats. Started 3 days prior but on 1 goat no difference and 2 goat maybe only a little. The event was stressful so I may give it another try for the next trip.
