Horses that graze on sandy ground may ingest sand and dirt that may accumulate in the intestinal tract causing stomach discomfort and digestive issues. Psyllium seed husks combined with water form a gelatinous substance that flows through the horse's intestinal tract, helping to decrease sand and dirt accumulation in the gut.
