About Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Historically, under natural conditions, horses consume an approximately 5:1 ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6, which is the ratio found in grass and green hay. The modern equine diet, which is primarily grain-based, has a low (less than 1:10) ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6. UltraCruz® Equine Pure Flax Oil Supplement for Horses can help achieve the desired ratio of fatty acids in the diet to maintain balance and support horse health.

Does this product have to be refrigerated after opening? Any special storage requirements?

This product is recommended to stay in a room temperature area. Away from direct sunlight. Once you are done using the product we'd recommend to close surely.

I had been looking for pure, food-grade flax oil for quite some time, but couldn't find it. So, before now, I had to settle for blends. But, all the blends have the wrong omega - they have omega-6 (i.e. from soybean or sunflower oils) and I only wanted omega-3 for my horses. I use this oil just to bind my powder vitamins & ground flax seed to grass pellets so my horses (3 beautiful, Gypsy Vanner boys) eat every last bit of their vitamins/supplements. This year, for the first time, my boys shed out perectly, have incredibly shiny coats, perfect hooves & they are extremely healthy. So happy with this product!

The vet recommended trying a flax supplement to see if it would help anything. I tried two other brands of flax and the horse wasn't having it...to the point of literally dumping his bucket over on the ground in disapproval of his new "meal". A friend of mine let me sample some of her Ultra Cruz Pure Flax oil as I was afraid like most other things, my horse wouldn't eat it. Much to my shock, he didn't bat an eye and gobbled his food down, even licking the bucket clean afterward. So happy to have found a flax supplement he's willing to eat so that I can follow my vets recommendation to see if it helps with his allergies or not.

Prior to purchasing this supplement, I was using a very popular, big brand, pelleted fat supplement that my horses were doing very well on. I switched them over to this, and they are doing just as well, if not better and it's much more cost effective than what I was using before. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients in Ultra Cruz products. They will continue to be a staple on the shelves in my barn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super product! Great results!!I couldn’t keep weight on my 31 year old gelding, and his coat was lacklustre. I did some research on supplements and learned about the benefits of flaxseed oil. The local stores only carried oil blends, which were expensive and contained only a small percentage of flaxseed oil. So glad that I found this SCAH flaxseed oil. It didn’t take much to put some much needed weight on my boy. The flaxseed must be helping with his joints because he runs around and plays like a 3 year old colt now. His mane, tail, and coat are incredibly shiny. Thanks SCAH!!!

I've seen a noticeable difference in overall demeanor, coat, hooves in just a month. This is a very high quality pure flax seed oil. Customer service is excellent too, my order shipped right away. Love this product.

He’s amazingly shiny and rounded out. Only took one gallon. My Appaloosa needed the oil to keep sweet itch at bay. This year in warm and humid Florida not the first outbreak and we are well into June! It usually starts in early March. Both horses shedded their winter coats (in Florida really?)!!! Within two weeks. My Appaloosa usually looks like a yak! I’m buying 4 gallons each order. Ready to place my 3rd large order.

I started using this Pure Flax Oil a month ago and her coat is amazing. Great for adding Omega 3's and a super value for a top quality, PURE product.
