Indications: War Paint® Insecticidal Paste kills and repels face flies, horn flies, stable flies, house flies, black flies, and bot flies on horses and foals. War Paint® attaches to the hair of the horse and has a slow release of the insecticide, full body fly control usually occurs 1 to 2 after application, while repellent activity will occur within hours of application if not immediately.
Dosage and Administration: Do not apply more than 12 grams of War Paint to a horse in a 7-day period.
Full body control: Apply one (1) gram under each eye, two (2) grams on withers, and two (2) grams on each leg below the hock or knee - 12 grams total.
Face flies: Apply one (1) gram under each eye, creating a one-inch stripe along the lower eyelid. Do not apply directly to eye.
Horn files, Black flies, and House flies: Apply two (2) grams under the mane of the horse on the withers far enough up so it wouldn't be under a saddle or blanket if the horse is ridden.
Stable flies and Bot flies: Apply to the front of each leg two (2) grams in a one-inch wide by four-inch long stripe just below the keen and hock.
Foals: The same technique for applying War Paint can be used on foals, except only 1/2 the adult amounts described above. Do not apply more than 6 grams of War Paint to a foal in a 7-day period.
Caution: Do not apply to a wet animal, as War Paint will not adhere to moist surfaces. War Paint, once applied to the hair of the horse cannot be wiped off. Therefore it should not be applied within one to two weeks of an anticipated show. Certain horses may be sensitive to ingredients in War Paint and develop local irritation.
Storage: Do not contaminate food or foodstuff. Tightly close cap and store in a dry place. Avoid temperatures over 100° F.
