The USDA attributes the 70% decline in US equine West Nile cases from 2002-2003 to the use of West Nile Innovator®.
West Nile Virus (WNV) poses a significant threat to horses nationwide because it is carried throughout the country by infected birds during migration. Mosquitoes become infected after feeding on infected birds, and can then transmit the virus to horses. Vaccination remains the most effective way to help protect horses against WNV.
West Nile Innovator® + EWT is for the vaccination of healthy horses and foals 10 months of age or older as an aid in the prevention of the following diseases of horses:
- West Nile Virus infection
- Eastern Equine Encephalomyelitis
- Western Equine Encephalomyelitis
- Tetanus
This equine vaccine contains a killed virus and does not require reconstitution prior to administration. West Nile Innovator® + EWT is adjuvanted with MetaStim®, which reduces the potential for injection site reactions. In addition, this high quality vaccine may be administered to pregnant mares.
Supplied as a single dose syringe (needle included) or 10 dose bottle (needles and syringes sold separately).
