Ampicillin Powder for Injectable Suspension for Cattle, Dogs and Cats

Ampicillin Powder for Injectable Suspension is a broad-spectrum penicillin that has bactericidal activity against a wide range of common gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and has proved effective in the treatment of many infections previously beyond the spectrum of penicillin therapy.

In cattle and calves, including non-ruminating (veal calves), ampicillin is indicated for treatment of respiratory tract infections including bacterial pneumonia.

In dogs and cats this drug is particularly indicated for treatment of respiratory tract, urinary tract, gastrointestinal, skin, soft-tissue, and post-surgical infections.

Ingredients: Vial contains 25 gm ampicillin activity as ampicillin trihydrate. Diluent not included.

Dosificación y administración: Consult your veterinarian.The multi-dose dry-filled vials should be reconstituted to the desired concentration by adding the required amount of Sterile Water for Injection, USP, according to label directions. SHAKE WELL. After reconstitution this product is stable for 3 months under refrigeration and will be white to pale yellow in color. At the time of reconstitution the vial should be dated and the concentration noted on the label.

Precaución: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Not for use in humans. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to quinolones should avoid this product. Not for use in animals intended for breeding greater than 1 year of age because the effects of Pradalex on bovine reproductive performance, pregnancy, and lactation have not been determined. Not for use in beef and dairy calves less than 2 months of age, and veal calves; a withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves. Quinolones should be used with caution in animals with known or suspected central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Mild to moderate inflammatory changes of the injection site may be seen in cattle treated with Pradalex. See package insert for additional safety information.

Almacenamiento: Store at controlled room temperature (25° C), with excursions permitted from 15 - 30° C (59 - 86° F). After reconstitution, store under refrigeration.
