Eazi-Breed™ CIDR® Cattle Inserts help you improve the timing and efficiency of your breeding program.
Eazi-Breed™ CIDR® Cattle Inserts are controlled internal drug release inserts for use in beef and dairy cattle to support successful breeding programs. Each insert contains 1.38 g of progesterone in molded silicone over a flexible nylon spine with an attached polyester tail for easy removal.
The use of Eazi-Breed™ CIDR® Cattle Inserts in cows and heifers can result in a variety of improvements to beef or dairy reproduction programs, including:
- More cows and heifers becoming pregnant earlier
- Easier and more accurate heat detection
- Heifers freshening at a younger and more consistent age
- Accurate breeding and calving dates
- Improved labor management
Use one intravaginal insert per animal. Inserts release progesterone for a seven-day treatment period. For synchronization of estrus in beef cows, replacement beef heifers, and replacement dairy heifers, an injection of Lutalyse® must be administered one day prior to insert removal. For synchronization of estrus in lactating dairy cows, an injection of Lutalyse® must be administered on treatment day seven, when the insert is removed. Removal of the insert on the seventh treatment day results in a drop in plasma progesterone levels, which triggers estrus within three days.
