Campylobacteriosis (Vibriosis) is a venereal disease of cattle that can be transmitted during natural breeding or artificial insemination (AI). In cows, Vibriosis can result in temporary infertility, irregular estrus cycles, delayed conception, and even abortion. Leptospirosis can also cause abortion in pregnant cows.
Staybred™ VL5 is for the vaccination of healthy breeding-age beef cows and heifers prior to breeding as an aid in the prevention of Vibriosis caused by Campylobacter fetus, and Leptospirosis caused by Leptospira cannicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae and L. pomona.
This breeding and pregnancy vaccine contains inactivated (killed) fractions and does not require reconstitution prior to administration. It is safe for use in pregnant cows, and should be administered intramuscularly in the neck region. Administer 2 doses 2-4 weeks apart to all breeding-age cows and heifers 30-60 days before exposure or being added to the breeding herd. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended. Do not administer within 21 days before slaughter.
Due to increased risk of adverse reactions, this vaccine should be used with caution in dairy cattle.
Supplied as a 50 dose bottle. Needles and syringes sold separately.
