Excalibur^® Sheath Cleaner

Excalibur® Sheath Cleaner is a gentle cleanser for sheaths and udders in horses. Specially formulated for horses to clean, soften, loosen and remove accumulated body oils, dirt and debris. Contains tea tree oil to gently dissolve smegma. Rinses out easily and will not leave a residue on the skin. Non-irritating formula that helps speed up the cleaning process. Supplied as a 16 oz bottle.

Indications: Excalibur® Sheath Cleaner is a gentle cleanser to soften, loosen and remove accumulated body oils, dirt and debris (smegma).

Directions for Use: Most geldings and stallions should have their sheaths cleaned at least every six months. Light-pigmented genital areas, such as in Pintos, tend to develop accumulations more quickly and, therefore, will require more frequent cleaning.
A breeding stallion needs to be washed before and after breeding a mare. Washing not only cleanses the penis, but it also helps to stimulate the stallion in preparation for breeding.

Administration: For the sake of cleanliness, disposable gloves should be used. Also for the horse's comfort, cold water should be avoided.
Squeeze out a liberal amount of EXCALIBUR® into palm of hand and place up into the horse's sheath. Working the product well into the folds of the sheath. Allow 3-5 minutes for EXCALIBUR® to soften and loosen smegma.
Next, gently pull the horse's penis out of the sheath and, using pieces of cotton batting, gently remove the loose smegma. Occasionally, smegma will accumulate in a mass in the "blind pouch" above the opening of the urethra in the end of the horse's penis. This resulting "bean" may become large enough to interfere with urination if not removed.
After all presence of smegma has been removed, rinse the horse's sheath and penis as thoroughly as possible with clean water. If a horse will accept it, a gently flowing water hose may be used to flush out the sheath.
